Beans thakkali masala kuzhambu

 

Ingredients

    Double beans – ½ cup [fresh]
    Tomato – 3
    Onion – 1 [chopped]
    Ginger & Garlic – 1 tbsp [mashed]
    Green chilli – 1 [slit lengthwise or chopped]
    Curry leaves – 1 spring
    Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
    Kalonji [onion seeds] – ½ tsp
    Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
    Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
    Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
    Cinnamon stick – ½
    Bay leaf– 1
    Oil or butter – 2 tbsp
    Salt to taste
    Water as needed

Method

    Peel off the double beans then boil double beans till soft
    Put 3 tomatoes in a mixer jar grind to smooth puree.
    Heat oil in a pan add kalonji, cinnamon, bay leaf sauté
    Add onion & salt sauté till light brown
    Add ginger, garlic, green chili & curry leaves sauté
    Add boiled double beans, turmeric & red chilli powder sauté
    Add tomato puree sauté till raw smell out.
    Add water & garam masala mix well & let it thickens
    Add salt mix well, cut off heat.
    Add coriander leaves mix well & serve hot with rice, chapatti or paratha
